Sometimes, a career chooses you, and at other times, you choose your career. I chose teaching.

By vocation, I am a professor of Serbian language and literature, but before dedicating to my call I worked in journalism and PR.  I had the opportunity to collaborate with diplomats and foreigners who were all facing challenges with learning a new language.

In 2013, there were very limited resources on the internet when it comes to the language. While I was teaching in primary school, I came up with the idea to launch the first YouTube channel in Montenegro offering language lessons. And that’s where it all began — a new and enriching experience of connecting with people from different parts of the world who come to Montenegro with a desire to get to know the country through learning its language.

Today, my classroom extends beyond Montenegro, embracing learners from all over the ex-Yugoslavian region. So, to all those who have joined this linguistic odyssey, whether in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, or elsewhere in the region, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for being a part of this journey, for choosing to delve into the intricacies of our shared language, and for contributing to the rich mosaic of cultures that make up the ex-Yugoslavian experience.

Hvala vam (Thank you) for choosing BalkanLangs!
